Hajiya Maryam, Late General Sani Abacha’s wife has opened up on the loot allegations on her late husband. She claimed that it is a thing of shame for his husband to be accused of looting the country’s fund after 22 years.
Hajiya Maryam while speaking in an interview with Kano Focus during the 22nd anniversary of her husband’s death made it known that it is really a shame to lie against someone that is dead. While reacting to the recovered looted money allegedly believed to be her husband’s handwork, she said in no time, the truth will come out.
According to the former 1st lady, She emphasized that her husband was not known to be a thief while he was alive but how can he suddenly become one after death?. “It is a shame to tell lies on a dead man. It is also a shame to tell lies on your leader” she insisted. She further said that if her husband had gone wrong, God knows and if people are putting the wrong on him, time shall tell. She insisted that her husband did not loot while he was the president.
