With a Heavy Heart we announce the passage of Dr Victor Abimbola Olaiya’s Oldest Band member Kayeiro Rotilu who served the Living Doyen of Highlife for over 60years. Karo as fondly called by other members of the band was a loyalist and he became blind about 19years ago while as a guitarist for Victor Olaiya. He didn’t allow his medical impairment to affect the innate talent bestowed on him. As a guitarist of high repute he did justice with his guitar to many of Dr Victor Abimbola Olaiya’s Evergreen tunes. ie Iye Jemila. So fun mi,etc Karo’s last public performance was at a music award put together by Evergreen Musical Company and Ojez. This sad incidence happened on Saturday,26th of October 2019. Karo whose favourite song is incantation Highlife will be greatly missed. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
