The speaker of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Abdullahi, has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will rule Nigeria beyond 2023 as President Muhammadu Buhari is laying a solid foundation for the party and the country.

Abduallahi stated this on Wednesday, August 15, in his country home, Umaisha, Nasarawa state, while fielding questions from newsmen, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

We gathered that he added that Buhari would complete his eight years in 2023 and by then he would have laid a solid foundation for the country and the party.

Abduallahi said: “By the end of President Buhari’s tenure, I assure you he will have already laid a solid foundation for the party, the country and whoever is coming will follow his footstep.

“Buhari is one person that will not like to impose anybody on Nigerians in 2023.

“We are going to assess individual basis and it is going to be based on integrity so that whoever can enter Buhari’s shoes, we will go for him.

“So, I can assure you that infact APC will survive beyond 2023, there is no doubt about it.”

Abdullahi also called on Nigerians to pray and support Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administrations in their efforts in tackling insecurity and other emerging challenges facing the state and the nation at large.

While commending the efforts of the president in tackling insecurity, corruption, economy and other challenges, he lauded the efforts of the security agencies in tackling criminal activities in the country.

Meanwhile, we previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, July 30, declared that he was not ready to identify his likely successor.

The president spoke while receiving the members of the Progressive in Academics (Pro-Acad) at the presidential villa, Abuja.

It was learnt that the group had asked the president to start preparing a youth who would replace him when his second term tenure expires in 2023.
