The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed August 29 to hold its governorship primaries in Bayelsa and Kogi states to select its candidates for the November 16 election in the two states.

The party said it will begin the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms on July 10 (today) at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

In a statement, APC National Organising Secretary Emma Ibediro said aspirants are expected to pay N20 million for nomination form and N2.5 million for expression of interest form.

Ibediro said women aspirants and the physically challenged wishing to contest the election in the two states will pay 50 per cent of the proscribed fees, while payment is to be made to the designated bank accounts of the party.

The sale of nomination form is expected to close on August 20, while submission of the forms will close on August 21.

Aspirants from the two states are to be screened on August 22 and appeals arising from the screening taken the following day, while appeals arising from the primary election will hold on Monday, September 2, 2019.

In line with the provision of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines, APC said it released the time-table and schedule of activities for the conduct of this year’s governorship primary elections in Kogi and Bayelsa states.
