The Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Youth Wing (Worldwide) has advised IPOB to embrace peace, dialogue and constructive reasoning in achieving the common goals of the Ndigbo people.

The group gave the advice in a seven-point communique issued by its leaders, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Owerri on Wednesday. IPOB members The communique was signed by its new National Youth Leader, Dr Kingsley Dozie, Secretary, Mr Madukaike Uchenna, and 19 other members.

The group said that it was organizing its national restructuring summit on May 21 in Awka, Anamara. It said that it was fully in support of the Southern Belt Summit on the restructuring of the “mono-oil dependent and clumsy bureaucratic edifice called Nigeria.” “We join hands with other patriotic and well-meaning Nigerians who subscribe to restructuring as a common good for the nation,” it said.

The group said that in spite of Nigeria’s inherit challenges, the group was bound by her extant laws and willing to partake in any political or constitutional reforms that would advance her cause and strengthen the viability of the federating units.

It said it recognized and upheld the fact that Ndigbo people were industrious, enterprising and law abiding with “incontrovertible sense of conviviality.” The group proclaimed its unalloyed support to Chief John Nwodo, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for his vision, resilience, sincerity of purpose and commitment to the needs of Igbo nation in Nigeria.

It pointed said that it would not succumb to the intimation and threats of truncating the summit in Akwa by IPOB, which it said, would undermine their fundamental human rights and right by to freedom of speech and association. The group assured invitees across Igbo nation and beyond of a hitch-free summit, adding that measures had been put in place to address anyone or group whose intention would be to cause havoc that day.
