Police hunting the killer of a woman stabbed to death in a south London have appealed for witnesses.
The victim, thought to be a mum-of-two aged in her 30s, was knifed in broad daylight in what detectives believe was a “domestic-related” attack in West Norwood.
She was found bleeding to death in Eylewood Road just after 7pm on Thursday.
Police, paramedics and London’s air ambulance all raced to the scene but the woman was pronounced dead in the street.
She was the 15th person stabbed to death in London in six weeks.
Murder detectives launched a manhunt for her killer and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector Tony Lynes said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Eylewood Road, close to Aubyn Hill, who witnessed the murder or the events leading up to it to come forward.
“This incident occurred in broad daylight and there would have been a number of people in the area who possibly saw something significant. It is of paramount importance that those who hold vital information come forward and assist us with our inquiry.”
The victim’s next of kin have been informed of her death but she has not yet been formally identified.
The woman was a mum who lived locally, according to one witness.
She said: “She leaves two children. My heart bleeds for the family.”
A post-morterm examination is due to be held to establish the cause of her death,
No arrests have been made.
