FCT police arrest bribery suspect Yahaya Saleh after he offered N1.5m to investigators to free a kidnap suspect. Investigation to arrest accomplices underway
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested one Yahaya Saleh for attempting to bribe police investigators with N1.5 million.

His goal was to unlawfully secure the release of a suspected kidnapper currently under investigation.

The command’s spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday. She explained that Yahaya approached the officers investigating the case and tried to offer them the cash in exchange for the suspect’s freedom.
“The police investigators, however, rejected the offer and promptly initiated the necessary legal procedures, which led to the immediate arrest of Yahaya,” Adeh stated.

She added that the police are continuing investigations to track down other members of the criminal syndicate.

This arrest follows recent breakthroughs by the command in apprehending several kidnappers terrorising the Federal Capital Territory.
